Oaks Christian to hold annual dinner auction

Oaks Christian School will hold its eighth annual dinner auction Sat., May 3 at the Four Seasons Westlake, 2 Dole Drive, Westlake Village.

The black tie-optional event will be hosted by Chris Harrison, host of "The Bachelor." The auction's theme borrows loosely from the upcoming Summer Games in Beijing, with an Olympic focus and an Asian influence in the menu and décor.

Local former Olympic athletes will be highlighted throughout the evening. KNBC personality and Oaks Christian parent Fred Roggin will present an "Up Close and Personal" profile piece on students who are dedicated to academics, the arts, athletics and service to others.

There will also be a variety show of celebrity guests, student musicians and dancers and the schools "Philanthropists of the Year" will be honored.

Live auction items will include a trip to Fiji, a signed U2 guitar, a Robb Report Car of the Year Napa Valley event, an opportunity to be a ball boy at a Lakers game and a red carpet experience at a new Will Smith movie.

805 Living magazine will host an "805 Living Luxury Lounge" during the silent auction, featuring products donated by the magazine's advertisers.

Oaks Christian faculty, students and parents have donated "Oaks Exclusives" goods and services to the silent auction.

Proceeds from the auction will support the school's financial aid program.
