Program starts next Tuesday to help smokers beat addiction

Ventura County Public Health is sponsoring a program to help people stop smoking from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays through June 10 at Community Medical Group, 612 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks. The last day to join is Tues., April 29.

Topics covered will include identifying smoking triggers, developing a personal quitting strategy, coping with stress and tension, preventing weight gain, finding alternatives and staying smoke free.

Participants are eligible to receive nicotine patches, gum and lozenges.
