Joel Rafael to host CD release party

Singer/songwriter Joel Rafael will host a CD release concert at 8 p.m. tomorrow, Fri., April 25 at the Grant Brimhall/ Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road.

This is the first in a new series of concerts to play in the library.

Rafael has performed with Crosby Stills & Nash, Sheryl Crow, Taj Mahal, John Sebastian, Emmylou Harris, many others. He was a 1994 finalist and 1995 winner of the Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk Emerging Songwriter Award. He regularly headlines the annual Woody Guthrie Festival in Oklahoma.

His new CD on the Inside Recordings label, "Thirteen Stories High," has original material of "folk and timely political observations."

The event is co-sponsored by Inside Recordings, Concerts at the Bodie House, and Russ and Julie's House concerts.
