Humanitarian award goes to Pardee CEO for efforts in helping homeless Michael McGee, president and chief executive officer of Pardee Homes, will receive the HomeAid Humanitarian Award at the group's fifth annual Hearts Building Homes gala on May 31 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley. HomeAid's Los Angeles/Ventura Chapter will also honor seven other individuals, companies and organizations for outstanding contributions in addressing the plight of the homeless. The recognition dinner, which will include silent and live auctions, is open to the public. "For years and years, Pardee has stepped forward to meet the challenge presented by the thousands of homeless in our area," said Bob Perlberg, HomeAid president. "Each of the award recipients continues to support our efforts in ways that truly make a difference in so many people's lives." "One of the evening's highlights occurs when women, men and children who have been homeless present their personal thanks to HomeAid for its roll in addressing their urgent need for housing," said Lorraine Alderette, the Hearts Building Homes event chair. HomeAid is a nonprofit organization with 22 chapters across the country. The organization partners with the Building Industry Association of Southern California and its buildermembers and associate members. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities for the May 1 gala are available by calling HomeAid at (818) 889-9494. |
