Measure B would be a disaster for the city of T.O.
During many of the 30 years that I have lived in Thousand Oaks, I have patronized the Do-it Center store in Thousand Oaks. I have friends who work there. But I will not shop there again. I vehemently disagree with its corporate financed effort to stop Home Depot from locating near the Do-it...

Trustee says Measure B gets an F
Conejo Valley Unified School District is being hammered by the governor, who is recommending a $4.6billion reduction in funding for all California schools. This translates into a $8million shortfall for our district. Coupled with declining enrollment, our district is facing draconian cuts to ...

The city wants to let developers run rampant
Are the opponents of Thousand Oaks Measure B really concerned about protecting free enterprise and Home Depot or is it something bigger? For those who don't know, the City Council can flat out ignore the city's most important governing document, the T.O.

District used logic to decide schools for closure, maybe
Two positive pieces of news related to T.O. schools are in hand. First, that two local schools must be closed, a difficult decision but one that the local board has, by their own presentations, taken more than 10 months to research and analyze. (It's) a wellfounded decision made to benef...

Agrees that young people need places to go
I just read the letter from Eileen Harris that was in your April 17 paper ("Teenagers might stay here if there were things to do"), and I'd like to tell her that I agree with her 100 percent, and if there's any way that we can start this project, please sign me up.

New hallucinogen affects brain unlike opiates
I'm writing about a concern I had when reading your April 10 article titled "Cops warn parents of new hallucinogenic drug." I'm a biology professor and have biochemistry background.

For the record
We made a typo in a letter to the editor last week. Ovi Lalo wrote, "You don't want Big Brother watching over us, yet if the Democrats win the presidency, we'll have big government running our lives and taxing us to death.
