Military leadership academy accepting applications

Freedom Alliance has opened the application period for the Military Leadership Academy.

The academy aims to educate, motivate and inspire student leaders, and has graduated more than 700 high school students since its inception in 2001.

Students will visit U.S. military installations to learn more about the customs, courtesies and traditions of the military. They will also visit historical sites such as Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown.

There are two sessions planned for the summer. The first will be held June 10 to 21 and the second will be from July 28 to August 8.

Both sessions will be held at the Eastover Retreat Center across the James River from Williamsburg, Va. The center provides access to Virginia's many military bases and historical sites.

Freedom Alliance works each year to allow students to interact with the men and women serving in the military.
