Medieval author will address AAUW The Thousand Oaks branch of American Association of University Women will host a talk by award-winning author and medieval historian Sharan Newman at 7:30 p.m. tonight, Thurs., April 17, at Thousand Oaks Inn, 75 W. Thousand Oaks Blvd. Newman will speak on "Women's Lost History." Newman is the author of "The Real History Behind the Da Vinci Code," "The Real History Behind the Templars" and "The Shanghai Tunnel." Her books will be available for purchase and signing at the event. Coffee, tea and a dessert bar will be available. The author has a doctorate in medieval studies from UC Santa Barbara, specializing in 12th century France. She's a member of the Medieval Academy and the Medieval Association of the Pacific.
