St. Max collecting instruments to benefit sister church school

St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church is helping its sister parish, St. Michael's in Los Angeles, to improve its school music program by donating musical instruments.

Alan Brauer, a member of the St. Max community, launched a drive to collect gently used musical instruments to start up a music program for St. Michael's elementary and middle school students.

"By donating your musical instruments to St. Michaels, you will enable underprivileged, inner city children to experience the joy of learning and playing a musical instrument," Brauer said. The donation could also be used as a charitable deduction on tax returns, he said

Musical instruments may be dropped off at the front desk of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 5801 Kanan Road in Westlake Village, along with a name and contact information. The appropriate charitable contribution receipt will be provided.

For more information, call Brauer at (805) 4922457 or email alanbrauer@earthlink.net.
