Parent Talk lectures continue
The Parent Talk lecture series continues with the fourth seminar in a five-part series. Jon Pearson will speak on "Drawing on the Inventive Mind" Tues., April 15 at Ascension Lutheran Church.
The lectures are presented by the Conejo Valley Adult School, which calls this fourth installment "the world's funniest educational evening." Pearson will help parents discover effective tools for communication and learning and will share practical secrets to draw out the best in children.
"Observation and imagination are brother and sister to reading and writing," Pearson said.
Pearson is the winner of the 2001 Professional Artists in Schools Award and is a speaker, consultant and author.
Tickets, which are $15 in advance and $20 at the door, can be purchased by calling (805) 4928837. Series discounts are available for individual and couples' tickets.
The final lecture is Barbara Coloroso's "Kids Are Worth It! Raising Responsible, Resourceful and Caring Children" on May 20.
All lectures are from 7 to 9 p.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1600 E. Hillcrest Road in Thousand Oaks.
