At The Library

The Grant Brimhall/Thousand Oaks Library has announced its upcoming events, all of which will take place at the library, 1401 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

•The Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library will hold a family fun day open house Sat., April 12 beginning at 10 a.m. Three family events will be held: The Reptile Family at 10 a.m., musician Hap Palmer at 11:30 and a screening of "Ratatouille" at 1:30 p.m.

The event is free for Friends members. Nonmembers may sign up as members and gain admission, $20 for families and $10 for students. For tickets, call (805) 498-2139, ext. 243.

•A quilt show and author event will take place at 1 p.m. Sun., April 13. Former Thousand Oaks resident and "Elm Creek Series" author Jennifer Chiaverini will hold a discussion, questionandanswer session and book signing.

•The movie "Desk Set," starring Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy, will screen at 1 p.m. Mon., April 14.

•The Friends of the Library executive board is seeking a volunteer for the position of membership vice president. The duties include maintaining the membership database, sending out yearly membership renewal letters and developing programs and activities to increase membership.
