Sheriff's Blotter Newbury Park On suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, the following were arrested at the times, dates and places indicated: A male, 35, at 2:48 p.m. March 20 in the 1500 block of Rancho Conejo Boulevard (subject was involved in a traffic collision); and a female, 29, at 6:45 p.m. March 22 at Deer Valley Avenue south of Lynn Road (subject was involved in traffic collision that resulted in minor injury to a passenger in her vehicle). A male, 36, was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance at 8:40 p.m. March 21 in the 1500 block of Newbury Road. The subject also possessed hypodermic needles and dopamine pills. A female, 21, was arrested for allegedly using someone else's identification to obtain goods and for forgery at 12:19 p.m. March 3 in the 400 block of S. Reino Road. Unknown suspects used force and fear to steal property from a home between 11:30 a.m. and noon on March 20 in the 600 block of Avenida de La Plata. A home burglary occurred from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. March 18 in the 500 block of Martinique Place. Property was stolen from the bed of someone's pickup truck on March 21 or 22 in the 200 block of Castilian Avenue. A home was burglarized on March 24 or 25 in the 700 block of Rudman Drive. A thief entered someone's garage and stole property from March 20 to 22 in the 3400 block of Gerald Drive. Cooling coils from air conditioning units were stolen from March 19 and 22 in the 800 block of Mitchell Drive. Vehicle break-ins occurred on the following dates and places: On March 20 or 21 in the 1000 block of Sunset Oak Circle (car window broken); on March 22 in the first block of Castilian Court; on March 21 or 22 in the 300 block of N. Castilian Avenue (passenger door window broken and gym bag filled with various items stolen); on March 22 or 23 in the 400 block of Ben Court; and on March 24 or 25 in the corner of Greenmeadow Avenue and Cypress Street. Three victims had the tires of their vehicles punctured on March 24 or 25 in the 500 block of Dorena Drive. Tires were vandalized on March 25 in the 500 block of Randy Drive. Thousand Oaks A male, 18, was arrested at 4:47 p.m. March 23 at the intersection of N. Moorpark Road and Brazil Street on charges of: Fleeing the scene after a stolen vehicle was stopped; possessing a deadly weapon; possessing someone else's identification; possessing a deceptive government document; associating with other gang members while conspiring to commit a crime; resisting arrest and suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. On charges of driving a stolen vehicle, either assisting or having knowledge of gang-related crimes, and fleeing the authorities, a male, 18, was arrested at 5:15 p.m. March 23 in the 400 block of Moorpark Road. On charges of being a passenger in a stolen car and running from police, a male, 20, was arrested at 4:45 p.m. March 23 in the 1200 block of Calle Violeta. On suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, the following subjects were arrested at the times, dates and places indicated: A male, 19, at 2:22 a.m. March 22 at the intersection of La Cam Road and Alice Ann Road (subject also possessed a controlled substance); a female, 44, at 9:50 p.m. march 20 in the first block of Erbes Road (subject was driving on the wrong side of the road); and a female, 50, at 5:35 p.m. March 20 at the intersection of Thousand Oaks Boulevard and Via Merida (non-injury traffic collision). The following subjects were arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of controlled substances: A male, 41, at 8:50 p.m. March 20 at the intersection of Briar Cliff Road and Strawberry Hill Road; a male, 35, at 9:30 p.m. March 20 in the 1300 block of N. Moorpark Road; and a male, 24, at 4:42 p.m. March 24 in the 2000 block of Calle Camelia (subject possessed 0.4 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine and a glass pipe, and had also trespassed the interior of someone's home). A male, 18, was arrested on charges of possessing 3.2 ounces of a substance believed to be marijuana, a scale with marijuana residue on it, $129 cash, a lock pick, insulated gloves and fireworks at 1:48 a.m. March 25 at the intersection of Wilbur Road and Moorpark Road. On suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and marijuana, a male, 18, was arrested at 12:25 a.m. March 21 at the intersection of Big Sky Drive and Indian Mesa Drive. A male, 23, allegedly had a canesword and a substance believed to be marijuana in his vehicle at 11:25 p.m. March 23 at the intersection of Calle Pensamiento and Avenida de Las Plantas. A male, 20 was arrested on charges of possessing a substance believed to be marijuana and Xanax after a report of indecent exposure at 11:01 a.m. March 22 at the intersection of Windsor Drive and Bury Circle. Discovered sleeping in his car at 4 a.m. March 24 at the Bank of America at Moorpark Road and Janss Road, a male, 26, allegedly had a folding dagger in his possession. A vandal entered someone's home and spray painted the walls and cabinets on March 21 in the 2700 block of Lakeridge Lane. A male, 24, was arrested for allegedly threatening someone and making her fear for her safety at 7:57 a.m. March 22 in the 1700 block of Orinda Court. A thief stole someone's purse from her shopping cart at Toys "R" Us around 4:30 p.m. March 21 in the 100 block of N. Moorpark Road. Vehicle break-ins occurred on the following dates and places: On March 20 or 21 in the 3300 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard (window smashed and stereo stolen from the front console); on March 22 or 23 in the 2300 block of Sirius Street (unsecured); on March 23 or 24 in the 400 block of E. Avenida de Los Arboles (window broken and photography equipment stolen); on March 23 or 24 in the 2300 block of Gillingham Circle (unlocked); on March 24 or 25 in the 1000 block of Greenfield Street (unlocked); and between 10:45 and 11 a.m. March 25 in the 300 block of E. Hillcrest Drive. Vandals damaged a car by kicking it between 1:15 and 1:30 a.m. March 21 in the first block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard. A female, 34, entered a business with burglary tools and the intent to steal merchandise at 5:50 p.m. March 21 in the 200 block of W. Hillcrest Drive. The subject possessed stolen several clothing items when she was apprehended. A blouse valued at $88 was stolen around 2 p.m. March 25 in the 300 block of W. Hillcrest Drive. Unknown suspects entered a construction site and stole large amounts of lumber from Dec. 25, 2007 to Jan. 30 in the 2700 block of E. Hillcrest Drive. The crime was only recently reported. An air conditioning unit was stolen from a business on March 21 or 22 in the 200 block of Lombard Street. For allegedly stealing $1,267 worth of merchandise, a female, 37, was arrested at 11:53 a.m. March 20 in the 500 block of W. Hillcrest Drive. A vandal entered someone's vacant house and damaged light switches, disabled the smoke alarm and used the shower and tub in the master bedroom between March 1 and 25 in the 2700 block of Keats Avenue. Shoplifting occurred on March 20 in the 500 block of W. Hillcrest Drive. A petty theft was attempted March 20 in the 1700 block of E. Avenida de Los Arboles. A grand theft from a construction site in the 2200 block of W. Hillcrest Drive on March 7 was recently reported. On charges of soliciting without a permit and having an out of state felony warrant, a male, 32, was arrested at 5:35 p.m. March 20 in the 1400 block of Calle Madreselva. Property was stolen on March 22 in the 1300 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard. For allegedly threatening someone with bodily harm at the Janss Mall Car Wash, a female, 23, was arrested 6:15 p.m. March 20. A home was burglarized between 12:45 and 1:15 p.m. March 25 in the 900 block of Warwick Avenue. A male, 50, was cited for possessing false identification at 3:50 a.m. March 14 at Moorpark Road and Brazil Street. Property valued at $38 was stolen from the front of someone's home on March 19 in the 3600 block of Lang Ranch Parkway. A male, 20, was arrested on charges of being drunk in public at 12:17 a.m. March 25 in the 1800 block of W. Hillcrest Drive. The subject had an unsteady gait, smelled of alcohol, slurred his speech and was apparently very confrontational, continually repeating everything he said. |
