Rhythm in Shoes to present Banjo Dance

Performances to Grow On will present Rhythm in Shoes of Dayton, Ohio, performing their newest work, "Banjo Dance," at 7 p.m. Sat., April 12 at Scherr Forum Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

"Banjo Dance" is a tribute to the dance and music of the southern Appalachian Mountains and includes flatfooting, clawhammer banjo playing, fiddling, square dancing, sacred harp singing, storytelling, honky tonk songs, balladry and clogging, both traditional and modern. The performance features six dancers and five musicians.

Tickets are $24 for adults and $18 for students.
