Sheriff's Blotter Notice The blotter is longer than usual because a reporter's illness prevented an update last week. Newbury Park Several people entered a gas station at 11:50 p.m. Feb. 26. Reportedly, one showed a knife, and they demanded money. Somebody allegedly battered a police officer at 5:40 p.m. March 6 in the 1100 block of Amberton Lane. On suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, the following were arrested at the times, dates and places shown: Two males, 27 and 50, in the 600 block of Avenida de La Plata (latter also cited for possession); a female, 21, at 9:13 p.m. March 1 somewhere on Paseo la Perla; and a male, 40, at 5:40 p.m. March 1 at N. Lois Drive and Conejo Road (also charged with possession of a substance believed to be rock cocaine and for possession of paraphernalia.) The loss was $3,325 after items were stolen from a construction site in the first block of Academy Lane between March 4 and 10. A home was targeted by burglar(s) in the 400 block of Blackhawk Drive between 6 and 6:20 p.m. March 12. A home without signs of forced entry in the 100 block of Ensenada Drive was burglarized between noon and 1 p.m. March 12. For alleged possession of a pill believed to be Ecstasy, a male, 18, was arrested at 11:55 p.m. Feb. 27 at Rancho Conejo Road and Hillcrest Drive. Somebody illegally entered a dwelling while the resident was at home in the 700 block of Rudman Drive at 10:35 p.m. March 9. Items were stolen from an unlocked home in the 3300 block of Henry Drive on March 4 or 5. Something was stolen from a yard in the 600 block of Rudman Drive on March 9 or 10. In the 3000 block of Lisa Court between midnight and 6 a.m. March 5, somebody entered an unlocked home and stole valuables. Vehicle burglaries were reported in the following: On Feb. 18 or 19 in the 200 block of Via San Antonio (window smashed); between 11:30 and 11:39 p.m. Feb. 29 in the 1500 block of Applewood Street (unlocked); between 6 p.m. Feb. 29 and midnight March 1 in the 1500 block of Applefield Street (unlocked, nothing stolen but vehicle ransacked); March 4 or 5 in the 3900 block of Elkwood (window smashed); between 3 and 4 a.m. March 3 in the 200 block of Mesa Street (no signs of forced entry); and on March 2 or 3 in the 200 block of Windrose Court (window broken, multiple items stolen.) Restrooms, light poles and other fixtures at Dos Vientos Park were vandalized with graffiti on March 7 or 8. The loss was $600 after the rear window of a vehicle was vandalized the night of March 1 in the 300 block of Regal Oak Court. A public restroom at the Newbury Park Library was damaged after vandalism on Feb. 27 or 28 in the 2300 block of Borchard Road. Vandalism also occurred between Feb. 21 and 24 at a business in the 700 block of N. Wendy Drive. A car's fender was damaged on Feb. 26 in the 4400 block of Via Juanita. A sign was damaged after vandalism at Dos Vientos Park the afternoon of Feb. 29. Other reports of vandalism were reported in the following: March 1 or 2 involving a fence in the 600 block of Cayo Grande; and March 5 or 6 in the 1700 block of W. Hillcrest Drive (tire slashed.) Something was stolen from a female, 75, during daytime on March 3 in the vicinity of Borchard Road and Michael Drive. Keys were stolen from a construction site on March 7 or 8 in the 700 block of N. Wendy Drive. Somebody tried to break into a garage on March 4 or 5 in the 3300 block of Henry Drive. Shoplifting incidents were reported in the following: At 3:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at Kohl's (loss of $334); the afternoon of March 5 also at Kohl's (suspect allegedly used wire cutters to get one item and was arrested); evening of March 5 at same department store (clothing stolen); between March 3 and 7 in the 700 block of Mitchell Road; afternoon of March 7 in the 1900 block of Newbury Road (suspect arrested); evening of March 11 at Radio Shack; and the early afternoon of March 10 in the 1900 block of Newbury Road (suspect arrested.) A male, 19, was cited for possession of alcohol in a vehicle at the 101 Freeway and Ventu Park Road at 9:51 a.m. March 1. Thousand Oaks
The following were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs at the times, dates and places shown: A male, 28, at 8:25 p.m. Feb. 27 at T.O. Boulevard and Hodencamp; a male, 63, on the southbound 101 Freeway at Lynn Road; and a male, 25, at 9:04 p.m. Feb. 28 at Calle Tulipan and Narcisco (involving a traffic collision.) On suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, the following were arrested at the times, dates and places indicated: Two males, 27 and 29, at 2:20 p.m. March 5 at Avenida de Los Arboles and de Las Plantas; a female, 35, at 4:04 p.m. March 4 at Conejo Road and Los Feliz Drive; a female, 37, at 4:03 p.m. March 1 at Cunningham and T.O. Boulevard (later also cited for possession of a prescription amphetamine); a female, 52, at 12:45 p.m. Feb. 28 in the 200 block of Sequoia Court; a male, 33, at 8:25 p.m. Feb. 27 at T.O. Boulevard and Hodencamp; and a male, 19, at noon Feb. 27 at Avenida de Los Arboles and Calle Quebracho. Around 8 a.m. the morning of Feb. 28, somebody vandalized a car and then punched the male motorist in the face, causing a minor injury. The loss was $15,000 after musical equipment and computers were stolen from a church in the 300 block of W. Avenida de Las Flores the night of March 12. A female, 37, was arrested on Feb. 28 in T.O. because she allegedly put her children in a situation in which their health and safety were endangered. A male, 52, allegedly vandalized a car and then punched the victim in the face. The arrest and alleged incidents occurred March 3 in the 1300 block of E. Janss Road. A male, 18, was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property, conspiracy to commit a crime and possession of burglary tools at 12:48 p.m. Feb. 17 in the 2500 block of Chandler Avenue regarding incidents that may have occurred in the 800 block of Valley High Avenue and at other possible locations. The suspect allegedly admitted to being a lookout while friends committed burglaries. A male, 26, was arrested and charged with possession of a deadly weapon at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 28 at Lynn Road and Camino Manzanas. Somebody caused a disruption at Claim Jumper restaurant the afternoon of March 5 and then refused to leave the premises, even after he was instructed to depart by law enforcement officers. A home under construction in the 900 block of Calle Plantador was burglarized the night of March 11. The following vehicle burglaries were reported: Between 2:30 and 6:30 a.m. Feb. 29 in the 3300 block of Medicine Bow Court (window smashed); the night of Feb. 28 in the 3300 block of S. Blue Ridge Court (two vehicles); between 1:10 and 8:15 a.m. Feb. 29 in the 3200 block of W. Allegheny Court (window broken, purse stolen); night of Feb. 27 in the 2600 block of Oak Valley Lane (unlocked, gym bag stolen, report also taken on vandalism); the night of Feb. 27 in the 3300 block of Olivegrove Place; between 11:35 and noon Feb. 28 in the 200 block of W. Hillcrest Drive; between Feb. 26 and 29 in the 2700 block of Appalachian Court (unlocked); Feb. 28 or 29 in the 1700 block of Marian Avenue (rear window smashed); the night of March 2 in the 5700 block of Tanner Ridge (window broken); on Feb. 29 or March 1 in the 1900 block of Daylight (unlocked, CD player and discs stolen); Feb. 29 or March 1 in the 3100 block of W. Rim Crest Drive (force used to gain entry); night of March 6 in the 2200 block of Shadow Spring Place (window broken); night of March 7 in the 2000 block of Los Feliz Drive (unlocked, cellphone, battery charger and cash stolen); between 8 a.m. and noon March 8 in the 1500 block of E. Hillcrest Drive (unlocked, property valued at $3,000 stolen); on March 9 in the 2300 block of Calle Alucema (force used to gain entry); March 8 or 9 in the 1600 block of Fremont Drive (window broken); March 5 or 6 in the 300 block of Regal Oak Court (window smashed); the night of March 11 in the 1000 block of Witherspoon Drive (use of force, two vehciles); the night of March 10 in the 800 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard (vehicle parts stolen) and between March 7 and 10 in the 3100 block of Los Feliz Drive. A purse was snatched from a female, 53, at 12:15 p.m. March 13 in the 500 block of N. Moorpark Road. Property was stolen after a motor home was broken into between March 7 and 10 in the 1400 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard. A home in the 1400 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard was broken into and burglarized between 12:30 and 8 p.m. March 8. Property was stolen from a structure in the 200 block of Encino Vista Drive between Jan. 30 and March 1. Something was stolen from the front porch area of a home in the 2000 block of Los Feliz the afternoon of March 3. Something was stolen from the front yard of a home in the first block of Erbes Road between Jan. 18 and 25. The incident was only recently reported. In the same vicinity, a storage container was broken into and items were stolen between March 8 and 10. A swastika was painted on a sidewalk and on a vehicle the night of Feb. 27 in the 3200 block of Woodview Court. Somebody walked on the hood of a car and broke its windshield between Feb. 20 and March 10 in the 2400 block of Calle Gladiola. Vandal(s) drove on grass and flooded a bathroom at Lake Sherwood Country Club the night of March 1. A vehicle was keyed in the 2000 block of Los Feliz on March 2 or 3. Conejo Recreation and Park District was the victim of vandalism the night of March 6 in the 2500 block of N. Moorpark Road. The same vandal used spray paint to commit vandalism three times in Thousand Oaks between Nov. 1 and Jan. 17. Three acts of spray-painted graffiti were reported on Feb. 28 at different sites in T.O. Other similar acts of vandalism occurred in the following: On Feb. 26 or 27 in the 2500 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard; late night of Feb. 29 in the 200 block of N. Moorpark Road; the night of Feb. 28 in the 1700 block of Marian Avenue; on March 1 in the 1800 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard; between March 1 and 3 in the 1500 block of N. Moorpark Road; night of March 9 in the first block of W. Columbia (trailer targeted); Feb. 28 or 29 at Conejo Valley Adult School; 3:55 p.m. March 2 in the vicinity of the 2700 block of N. Panamint Street (city of T.O. the victim, suspects possibly arrested); and between 7:30 and 8:13 a.m. March 12 in the 1500 block of Via Bejada. Two tires were slashed on Feb. 26 or 27 in the 800 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard. Alleged acts of shoplifting were reported in the following: The afternoon of Feb. 28 in the 500 block of W. Hillcrest Drive; at 5 p.m. Feb. 29 in the 100 block of W. Hillcrest Drive (loss of more than $400); the afternoon of March 2 in the 200 block of W. Hillcrest Drive; 3:48 p.m. March 5 in the 1700 block of N. Moorpark Road; 2 p.m. March 7 in the 200 block of N. Moorpark Road (suspect arrested); afternoon of March 8 in the 1700 block of N. Moorpark Road (suspect arrested in loss of $18.25); 4:20 p.m. March 8 in the 200 block of N. Moorpark Road (suspect arrested in theft of T-shirt); afternoon of March 8 at Macy's (suspect arrested); late morning of March 5 in the 100 block of W. Thousand Oaks Boulevard; and at 8:45 p.m. March 10 at a grocery store in the 1700 block of N. Moorpark Road ($10 loss.) Something valued at $100 was stolen from a female, 20, the afternoon of March 10 in the 700 block of Calle Clavel. Counterfeit money was passed to a store in The Oaks on Feb. 29. A male, 18, was arrested at 4:07 p.m. March 2 at Duesenberg Drive and T.O. Boulevard on an allegation that he committed vandalism in the 2800 block of N. Panamint. On charges of possession of marijuana and transporting it in a vehicle, a female, 38, was arrested at 4 p.m. March 4 in the 2400 block of W. Hillcrest Drive. Items were stolen from a church twice in late February in the 900 block of Warwick Avenue. A business was broken into between 1:50 and 2:01 a.m. March 6 in the 200 block of N. Moorpark Road. Items were stolen from a home between Feb. 24 and 27 in the 600 block of Racquet Club Lane. The incident was only recently reported. For alleged public intoxication, the following subjects were arrested at the times, dates and places shown: A male, 25, at 9:05 a.m. March 4 in the 1200 block of E. Hillcrest Drive; a male, 60, at 1:46 a.m. March 1 in the 900 block of El Segundo Drive. Two females, 42 and 21, were cited for battery in citizens' arrests the evening of Feb. 29 at a location on Waverly Heights Drive. For possession of a substance believed to be marijuana, the following were cited and released: A male, 22 at 9:08 p.m. Feb. 29 at Moorpark and Gainsborough roads; and a male, 19, at 5:25 p.m. March 2 in Suburbia Park (also cited for shooting a BB gun.) For selling magazine subscriptions without a license, a female, 19, was cited and released at 2:02 p.m. Feb. 27 in the 3000 block of Globe Avenue. Westlake/T.O. A grocery store in the 3900 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard was burglarized around 12:30 p.m. Feb. 28. Somebody allegedly held a knife to the neck of a male, 18, and stole more than an ounce of marijuana at 1:15 p.m. Feb. 29 in the 3800 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard. Following an investigation, the victim was arrested and charged with possession of more than an ounce of pot and for possession of a deadly weapon and a switchblade knife. A male, 18, was arrested at 4:34 p.m. March 1 in the 4100 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard on suspicion of committing graffiti vandalism earlier in Thousand Oaks. A restroom at a business in the 100 block of S. Westlake Boulevard was targeted with graffiti between March 3 and 7. Something was stolen between March 1 and 4 in the 4500 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard. A similar theft took place in the same vicinity on Feb. 26 or 27. A laptop computer was stolen ($1,000 loss) from the conference room of an unlocked business between 4:30 and 5 p.m. March 6 in the 2200 block of Townsgate Road. Vehicle burglaries were reported in the following: Feb. 13 or 14 in the 3100 block of W. Sierra Drive (unlocked); between 3:45 and 4 p.m. March 6 in the 2900 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard (unlocked); March 6 or 7 in the 900 block of Evenstar Avenue (window broken); and March 7 or 8 in the 300 block of Westlake Vista Lane (unlocked.) Graffiti occurred at Westlake High School (causing $500 damage) between noon and 1 p.m. March 3. |
