Teacher at synagogue school earns award

Michelle Princenthal, Early Childhood Education teacher at Temple Adat Elohim, received the Lainer Award from the Bureau of Jewish Education of Greater Los Angeles at the annual Spring Institute in Woodland Hills on Feb. 26.

The Lainer Award is given annually to a teacher of excellence in the greater Los Angeles area.

Princenthal has been teaching in early childhood education for more than 20 years. She teaches pre-kindergarten and a special kindergarten readiness enrichment series for the temple's ECC preK and transitional kindergarten students.

According to the temple, Princenthal integrates Jewish concepts into art, music, science, math, and language arts. She helps promote her students' social and emotional growth, and she takes classes to remain current on early childhood research, child development and educational ideas.

Temple Adat Elohim is at 2420 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.
