Brain injury group supports each other

The Heads Up Group Support (HUGS) for people with brain injuries will meet at 6:30 p.m. tonight, Thurs., March 13, at 72 Moody Court, Thousand Oaks.

Dr. John Horton will share simple tools to help access the brain's innate calming mechanisms to reduce anxiety. Horton has been practicing integrative medicine in Westlake Village for 15 years.

March is Brain Injury Awareness Month. Brain injury is the leading cause of death and disability worldwide. Someone in the U.S. suffers a brain injury every 23 seconds. Only one out of 20 people with traumatic brain injury receives appropriate medical care.

For more information about the meeting or brain injuries, call Veronica at (805) 480-9726 or visit www.conejohugs.org.
