Special performances coming to Camarillo late this month

The Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District will present a special performance on Fri., March 21 at the Camarillo Cafe, 515 Eubanks St. at the Camarillo Airport.

Open stage/microphone begins at 8 p.m. Signup is required. The feature performers, The MacMammals and Southcoast, begin at 9:30 p.m.

The MacMammals, Carol and Ron Bloom, have performed together for more than three years. Ron Bloom's expertise lies in traditional folk and folk/rock. He plays acoustic guitar and mandolin and sings. Carol Bloom has performed Celtic and Appalachian music for more than 17 years and backs her vocals with guitar and accordion.

Southcoast, the Southern California duo of Don Truby and Jean Pickard, has entertained widely with their harmonyheavy blend of contemporary and traditional folk music accompanied by guitar.

Admission is $10, and refreshments are available.

The event is smoke and alcohol-free.
