Pageant coming to Newbury Park

Pageant orientation for Ventura and Santa Barbara counties' local preliminary for the California International Pageants will be at 9 a.m. Sat., March 1 at the Courtyard Marriott, 1710 Newbury Road, Newbury Park.

The pageant system stresses community involvement and requires no swimsuit competition.

New titleholders will be selected for Crowning Glory Productions' Ventura County International and Gold Coast International titles.

Categories are Junior Miss for ages 9 to 13, Miss Teen for ages 13 to 18 and Miss for ages 19 to 29.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens who have lived, worked or attended school in Ventura or Santa Barbara county for at least six months. Experienced and novice contestants are welcome.
