NPHS boys' soccer team moves on

With a 2-0 road win over St. Francis Tuesday, the Newbury Park High boys' soccer team advanced to today's CIF-Southern Section Division I quarterfinal against San Clemente.

When the Panthers take the pitch, however, they'll be without senior Vinny Muscarella.

Muscarella became ineligible after he was ejected from Tuesday's game due to a second yellow card for colliding with the St. Francis goalkeeper.

"Vinny is a great player, but we have a lot of depth," NPHS head coach Guy Sanford said. "We're going to be all right."

Newbury Park's game will begin at 3 p.m. at NPHS.
