School provides culture lesson for adopted Chinese children, parents

      Every Sunday morning at El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills, a group of more than 80 children and their parents come from all over the Conejo and San Fernando valleys and beyond to submerge themselves in a culture they want to better understand.

      Laura Schaffer of Thousand Oaks has been named to the Whitworth University Laureate Society for fall semester 2007. Schaffer qualified for the academic honor society by maintaining a grade-point average of at least 3.75 during the semester.

Get those kids in kindergarten
      Parents may pick up fall kindergarten registration packets at school sites beginning Mon., Feb. 25. Beginning March 3, parents may register children who will be 5 years old on or before Dec. 2, 2008. Packets should be returned to the school office by March 10.
