Movie filmed in T.O. premieres at festival

"Wreck the Halls," a new movie starring Thousand Oaks residents Megan Ashley, 9, and Mickey Rooney, 87, will have its world premiere in competition at the International Family Film Festival on March 2 at Raleigh Studios, 5300 Melrose Ave., Hollywood.

The movie was filmed on location in Thousand Oaks at the University Village Retirement Community and at Stagecoach Liquors.

The film was co-directed by Thousand Oaks resident Michelle Goetsch and features several Thousand Oaks residents in background roles.

The film festival runs from Feb. 28 through March 2. Tickets are available online at www.iffilmfest.org/index.shtml.
