Board members sought who will represent low-income residents

Community Action of Ventura County, formerly the Commission on Human Concerns, Ventura County's community action agency since 1965, is seeking both a low-income sector board member and an alternate board member to represent the lowincome population in the second supervisory district, to fill a term beginning this April and ending in October 2011.

Community Action is a private, nonprofit charitable organization whose mission is helping people through advocacy and services, which promote dignity and self-sufficiency.

The organization provides services throughout Ventura County, including home weatherization programs, home emergency assistance programs, legal services, food distribution, homelessness prevention and case management services.
