Endorsement from Ted Kennedy is highly overrated

Although Barack Obama has been shouting from the rafters that Washington insiders cannot govern, he has enthusiastically embraced his endorsement by Ted Kennedy, the ultimate Washington insider.

That move is clearly an attempt to mobilize Hispanics for Obama. Look for more utterances of "Si, se puede" from both Obama and Kennedy. Let's push hard on Obama and Clinton for their stand on illegal immigration and specifics of how they plan to fix it.

Ted Kennedy, the weakest brother in the Kennedy clan, has been coasting on the reputation of his brothers, Jack and Bobby, all of his life. Let's not forget that it was JFK who first introduced American troops/''advisers" into Vietnam.

How much do younger voters know about Ted Kennedy, whose cowardice caused him to leave Mary Jo Kopechne to drown on July 19, 1969, on Chappaquiddick Island after a night of drinking?

History needs to be retold. Bill Gourlay Westlake Village
