Why does CVUSD target a trustee who is trying to do the best he can?

Apparently, the disciples of Machiavelli are hard at work again in the halls of Conejo Valley Unified School District as the deep, dark machinations of political chicanery seek new ways of muzzling a board member who seeks answers to legitimate questions.

A member of the board had the temerity to try and find out the numbers and types of computers that were at some schools independently of the High Command and was told in no uncertain terms to back off.

Here we have a democratically and duly elected official charged with overseeing CVUSD trying to do his job and look out for the interests of his constituents, and he's told by the superintendent to clear all requests for information through him.

One wonders why there is so much secrecy as it pertains to computers and computer systems?

One also wonders why CVUSD is doing all it can to muzzle Mike Dunn?

To many observers, that this board and district is dysfunctional there's little doubt, but from this outsider's perspective it appears that Mike is only trying to return some control of an out-of-control system to the rightful hands of parents and taxpayers.

It also appears that Dunn is trying to bring the light of day into the way business is done in the district--what a refreshing and novel concept--and this rattles the nerves of the old guard.

After reading of (trustee Dolores) Didio's remarks that she doesn't have the time to apologize to Dunn even though her actions and that of the rest of the board violated the Brown Act, this is another in a series of events that begs the question: What kind of example does this board set?

It's becoming quite clear to this writer that this board has an agenda, but ensuring the quality education of our children and overseeing the conduct of the process is not at the top of it.
