Farmers' Market is well stocked with avocados and fresh fruit Tasty fruits and ripe avocados can be found at the Thousand Oaks Certified Farmers' Market this winter season. Mike and Mary Shore of Santa Paula continue to bring tangerines and Clementines to the market, and will soon have the Dancy variety, a mandarin orange commonly known as a tangerine, available. The Shores also offer Fuerte and Haas avocados throughout the winter. Cara Cara oranges will be available in March. A wide variety of apples are offered at the Farmers' Market this winter. Grower David Ha reported that he has 20 to 30 varieties, including the popular Fuji apple, which he will offer through fall of this year from his farm in Tehachapi. Nancy Rydell of Faith Hill Farms in Santa Ynez will bring a variety of Pink Ladys, Granny Smith and Fuji apples to the market through March. Rydell reported that a new apple, the Honeycrisp, will be available to consumers this fall. The Thousand Oaks Farmers' Market takes place 2 to 6:30 p.m. every Thursday at its temporary home, 403 W.
