Two parolees arrested in Thousand Oaks

Robert Deutsch, 32, of San Luis Obispo and Brian Sims, 33, of Fresno were arrested last week in an incident that involved a high speed chase in Thousand Oaks. Authorities had responded to a report of suspicious activity in the area of Blake Ridge Court in T.O. the early morning of Jan. 16.

Dep. Damian Schmidt observed two men in a silver Jaguar sedan and stopped the vehicle.

When he approached the Jaguar, the motorist sped away and led authorities on a high speed chase before escaping from police in the vicinity of Moorpark and Olsen roads.

Detectives located the men later at the Motel 6 in Newbury Park after the suspects had returned to their room.

Authorities found stolen electronic equipment that had been stolen in vehicle burglaries in both Thousand Oaks and the Lost Hills area of Calabasas. The loot was valued at thousands of dollars.

Deutsch and Sims both have extensive criminal histories, according to police. They were arrested for evading arrest, possession of stolen property and violation of parole. They were being held without bail in Ventura.
