New book discussion leader turns new page

The Friendly Book Discussion Group meets at 7:30 p.m. the first Wednesday of every month in the conference room of the Grant Brimhall/Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road. New members are welcome.

A different group member will facilitate the discussion each month.

Sai Chandavarkar, a Thousand Oaks resident, is the new leader of the group. He has been a member of the group since 1995 and was involved in informal book groups before that.

Chandavarkar would like to make the book selection process more broadbased and democratic and not rely on best-seller lists. He welcomes more participation in the group from a wider cross-section of the community.
