Passport fair to come to post office

The Thousand Oaks Post Office will hold a passport fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sat., Jan. 26 at 3435 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

Extra staff will be on hand at the event to assist customers with preparing applications, ensuring documents are in order and accepting applications. There is no appointment necessary.

To apply for a passport, bring birth certificate, valid photo ID and two passport photos. Passport photos are identical, 2-by-2-inch head and shoulders pictures, taken in front of a light, solid background. Photos can be taken at the USPS Passport Expo for $15.

Adult passports are valid for 10 years and cost a total of $97. Passports for children age 15 and under cost a total of $82 and are valid for five years. Minors must have parental consent to obtain a passport.
