Ventura County YMCAs to host open houses

Branches of the Southeast Ventura County YMCA will host a "Discover the Y" open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sat., Jan. 5.

The free events will feature games and activities for the kids.

Hosting the open houses are the Conejo Valley YMCA at 4031 N. Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks, Miller Family YMCA at Paraiso Town Center in Newbury Park and the Simi Valley Family YMCA at 3200 Cochran St. in Simi Valley.

Activities include tours of the Y's indoor heated pool, hydrotherapy pool and fitness center. Information will be available about aerobics programs, special interest classes, child care, camps, youth sports and parent-child programs.

The Simi Valley and Conejo Valley YMCAs will host health fairs with health-oriented booths.

Membership signups with incentives and discounts and program sign-ups will also take place at all three Ys.
