Yearlong seminar series designed to activate spirituality

The OneSpirit Center for Conscious Living will conduct a yearlong program with monthly themes and weekly lessons with daily exercises designed to foster spiritual practices in every area of living.

The course, "Activate in 2008," will begin at 10 a.m. Sun., Jan. 6 at OneSpirit in the Erringer Plaza at 1756 Erringer Road, Simi Valley.

"When one focuses on intentionally activating spirituality in every area of one's life, not just on Sundays but, rather, every day, 365 days of the year, our lives are transformed. Spirit is always calling us to grow and change in lifeaffirming ways. The question is, are we listening? This program is designed to help us listen more effectively," said Dennis Merritt Jones, spiritual director for OneSpirit and an Acorn columnist.

The monthly themes are: January, activating spirituality; February, activating love; March, activating transformation; April, activating compassion; May, activating community; June, activating intuition; July, activating healing; August, activating honesty; September, activating service; October, activating prosperity; November, activating creativity; and December, activating joy.

The program will use "Spirit is Calling" daily journals with brief daily reminder essays on the theme for each week and space for recording thoughts
