Gold Award recipients


A WINNING PAIR- Best friends Alyssa Marie Gogesch, left, and Allison Jean Montroy are Girl Scouts Gold Award recipients, the highest in Scouting. Alyssa belongs to Troop No. 60012 and is a senior at Westlake High School. She earned her award by collecting backpacks filled with supplies and sleeping bags for needy people at a mission in Mexico. Allison, also a WHS senior, belongs to Troop No. 60161 and earned her award by volunteering at the Kenneth Jernigan Library. She also collected books and helped Braille them for the blind.
