Conditions expected to clean up a bit for Chevron World Challenge
Besides a few showers predicted for Friday, the weather isn't expected to be too bad this weekend in Thousand Oaks.
This is good news for the Chevron World Challenge and its host, Tiger Woods.
"We are expecting a great week of golf," wrote Greg McLaughlin, president of the Tiger Woods Foundation and tournament director, in an e-mail.
Despite fierce winds and intermittent rain, the star-studded golf tournament opened with a Pro-Am event Wednesday at Sherwood Country Club.
Four days of tournament play begins this morning sans Woods, who continues to recover from knee surgery.
Some of the big names stalking the course include Vijay Singh, Jim Furyk, Anthony Kim, Fred Couples, Mike Weir, Boo Weekley, Chris DiMarco, Justin Leonard, Luke Donald, Steve Stricker, Kenny Perry and Ben Curtis.
Tickets are available by calling (800) 594-TIXX (8499) or visiting the website www.chevronworldchallenge.com.
According to McLaughlin, there are no refunds, rain checks or exchanges.
However, if a day is canceled due to rain, ticket holders can use the previous day's tickets for entry the next day of scheduled tournament play.
Ticket holders can read the policy in the ticket section of chevronworldchallenge.com.
