The Women's Artistic Network announces the winners of its inaugural poetry contest, which drew 140 entries nationwide.

Local winners are Joan D. Day of Camarillo for "The Return" and Kenneth Billau of Simi Valley for "The Naked Lady (humor)."

Day and Billau both earned honorable mention.

WAN membership includes writers, poets, composers, playwrights, public speakers, photographers, artists, musicians and other women who want to promote the arts.
