Church reaches out to help U.S. military

MORE THAN A SERMON- Members of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Thousand Oaks, rom left, Tom Bennett, Jane Bennett, Mary Anne Cradeur and Lisa Takeguma teamed up with he rest of the congregation and the Rev. Stuart Bond, pastor, to send items that are needed by servicemen and women overseas. A greeting card was included inside each box, and 200 were sent. The contents were valued at about $40 per box. It cost $10 to send them through For the Troops, an organization that sends care packages to troops overseas.
