Spend Christmas Eve at Church of the Epiphany
      The Church of the Epiphany will offer three services on Christmas Eve, Wed., Dec. 24, at 5450 Churchwood Drive, Oak Park. •A family oriented Holy Eucharist service with soloists will be at 4 p.m. •Choral Eucharist led by the Choristers youth choir with strings will be at 7 p.m.

Church reaches out to help U.S. military
     MORE THAN A SERMON- Members of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Thousand Oaks, rom left, Tom Bennett, Jane Bennett, Mary Anne Cradeur and Lisa Takeguma teamed up with he rest of the congregation and the Rev. Stuart Bond, pastor, to send items that are needed by servicemen and women overseas. A greeting card was included inside each box, and 200 were sent. The contents were valued at about $40 per box. It cost $10 to send them through For the Troops, an organization that sends care packages to troops overseas.

Volunteers help foster children
      Seventy volunteers from Congregation Or Ami gathered at Kohl's store in Newbury Park on Dec. 7 for the annual Adopt a Child Abuse Caseworker Holiday Shopping Childspree. Participants chaperoned foster children throughout Kohl's, helping them pick out new clothes and toys for the holidays.

Unity church to host Christmas Eve service
      Unity of the Oaks Church will host a Christmas Eve candlelighting service at 7 p.m. Wed., Dec. 24 at the church, 1414 Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks. This traditional ceremony will have carols and candles. Services are each Sunday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Molly Rockey.

Hanukkah at Chabad
      Chabad of the Conejo and the Conejo Jewish Day School will host a Hanukkah Festival and Performance at 6 p.m. Tues., Dec. 23 at the Agoura High School Theater, 28545 Driver Ave., Agoura Hills. The event will feature "The Festival Jesters" show, music, entertainment, a menorah kindling, gifts and prizes, and food provided by Falafel Grill.

Jewish Center to host festival at Janss Marketplace
      Janss Marketplace and the Thousand Oaks Jewish Center will host a Hanukkah Family Festival from 5 to 7 p.m. Mon., Dec. 22 in the food court of the Janss Marketplace, 275 N. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks. The event is open to the community and free.
