The front yard of a Thousand Oaks home was the site of a fight last week that left two men seriously injured, according to Detective Eric Buschow.

Five or six men arrived at the home of Sarafin Lucio, 24, in the 800 block of Avenida de Las Flores to continue what police describe as a neighborhood dispute that began in Mexico.

The group that came to the house included Rubin Ambriz, 23. A fight allegedly ensued after the group is said to have confronted Lucio at around 9 p.m., Fri., Dec. 5, according to police officials.

Deputies responding to a disturbance call found Ambriz lying on the sidewalk outside the home severely beaten and with serious head injuries.

Lucio had multiple stab wounds.

The two were taken to Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center, where they underwent surgery, a police report said.

Both are recovering at the hospital and are expected to survive, Buschow said.

Investigators at first thought the incident was gang related but later determined the dispute allegedly began in Mexico about three years ago before those involved moved to the U.S., Buschow said.

Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and criminal complaint against those responsible for this crime. The caller may remain anonymous. The call is not recorded. Call Crime Stoppers at (805) 494-TALK (8255).
