Expert to discuss post-relationship depression

A psychologist will discuss depression that follows the loss of a relationship at 3 p.m. tomorrow, Fri., Dec. 12, at California Lutheran University.

Daniel Paul, PhD, will give a presentation titled "On Depression and Narcissism" in the Roth Nelson Room.

Some people are prone to establishing relationships on a narcissistic basis in which they tend to see significant others as embodying aspects of themselves.

Paul, who has a private practice in Beverly Hills, is on the senior faculty at the Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Studies and the Wright Institute of Los Angeles. The psychoanalyst has written about treatment of adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, the psychoanalysis of eating disorders and the treatment of the borderline and psychotic personality.

The Roth Nelson Room is on Mountclef Boulevard near Memorial Parkway in T.O. The Community Counseling and Parent Child Study Center of CLU is sponsoring the free talk.
