Westlake yoga instructor helps children thrive
      Preschoolers stretched their imagination muscles during a yoga class tailored just for them at the Moorpark College Child Development Center last week. Westlake Village resident Afi Kobari, a certified instructor who combines yoga with traditional preschool methods, teaches the class.

Learn CPR and you could save a life
      A three-hour CPR certification course will be offered at 9 a.m. Sat., Dec. 6 at the Newbury Park Athletic Club, 161 N. Reino Road, Newbury Park. The class includes adult, child and infant CPR, AED operation and choking emergencies. Attendees who successfully complete the course will receive a two-year certification. A $50 fee is charged for the certification.

Wellness Community hosts orientation meetings
      The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura has orientation meetings at 7 p.m. every Tuesday and 10 a.m. every Friday. The orientations are open to cancer patients, survivors and their families, and should be attended before participation in any of the agency's other programs. Bringing songs to assisted living center
     PERFORMING FOR SENIOR CITIZENS- The Thousand Oaks Kiwanis Club met the day before Thanksgiving for breakfast at the Thousand Oaks Health Center to celebrate the holiday with its residents. As part of the festivities, several children from the Connection Builders Club from Los Cerritos Middle School sang songs. From left are Amy Peltola, Nicole Johnson, Alex Culbert, Tara Fay, Sherry Chen and Rachelle Gibbert. Red Cross upgrades website
      The American Red Cross of Ventura County recently launched a new, upgraded website. The site is user-friendly and contains information including free classes and programs, upcoming events, how to obtain firstaid kits, disaster preparedness and volunteer opportunities.
