Love Foundation collects toys

The Universal Love Foundation will host its annual House of Hope for Grief and Loss Center open house Sat., Dec. 6 at its headquarters in Agoura Hills. The open house will raise awareness of the organization's mission and collect toys for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.

The UFL opened the House of Hope Center for Grief and Loss in Agoura Hills in 2007 to support children and their families in dealing with the death of a family member or loved one. The nonprofit organization provides free support groups for everyone in the family.

Founder and President Manzar Amini said the nonprofit organization has conducted the toy drive for Children's Hospital for seven years.

"Every year we give toys to the children," Amini said. In addition to granting specific toy requests by hospitalized children, Amini said the organization entertains the children with music programs, balloon art and holiday food and treats.

New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at the foundation's open house this Saturday or through Dec. 18 at the following businesses:

•Shooz, Thousand Oaks (Paseo Marketplace)

•Jack's Deli, Westlake Village

•Kirk's Jewelers, Westlake Village

•Bleu Clothing, Westlake Village and Los Angeles

•Minou's Boutique, Agoura Hills (Agoura City Mall)

The UFL's House of Hope Grief and Loss Center open house will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 28720 Canwood St., Ste. 104, Agoura Hills.

"The Universal Love Foundation is dedicated to helping children going through difficult times, emotionally, physically and financially," spokesperson Debbie Buxbaum said. "We find the holiday season a good time to share some happiness."
