Girl Scouts of California's Central Coast will host a "Winter Around the World" event for girls ages 5 to 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. Sat., Dec. 6 in the Marvin Smith Room at the Grant Brimhall/Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

Scouts may bring a friend to the event, which will explore holiday traditions throughout the world. Troop leaders will answer questions, and information about joining Girl Scouts will be provided to parents.

Girl Scouts will also be collecting nonperishable food items to support Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank.

Cost is $9 and includes all activities and a Girl Scout Event Patch.
