Master Chorale to present 'Holiday Presence'

Los Robles Master Chorale will present its "Holiday Presence" program at 8 p.m. Fri., Dec. 12 and Sat., Dec. 13 at the Church of Epiphany, 5450 Churchwood Drive, Oak Park.

The concerts will feature music spanning four centuries and four continents, including "In Dulci Jubilo" by GermanDanish Baroque composer Dietrich Buxtehude and the west coast premiere of "Sweet was the Song" by Matthew Brown.

Musical selections include African spirituals, Christmas carols from England, Spain and the United States and a Hebrew text from the Book of Psalms.

A pre-concert conversation with composer Nick Strimple will be held at 7 p.m. both nights. He will discuss his work "Ubi Caritas," which the chorale will perform, as well as some of the other music on the program.

Tickets are $18 in advance, $20 at the door and $12 for seniors, students and groups.
