Council agrees on several items
The five members of the T.O. City Council unanimously agreed on every item they voted on during their Nov. 18 meeting.
That meeting was the first time the council has met since the election on Nov. 4, when Mayor Jacqui Irwin and Mayor Pro Tem Tom Glancy seem to have won reelection after most of the votes have been counted.
The county will certify the election results by Tues., Dec. 2. The reelected members will be officially seated during the Tues., Dec. 9, reorganization meeting.
During the Nov. 18 meeting, the council, which two years ago was scolded by a grand jury for disrespectful behavior, agreed on raising water utility rates and changing the city code regarding how trees would be pruned. The council initiated changes to the General Plan land use element to accommodate denser housing.
Members also agreed on how $85,000 in community events endowment grants should be awarded.
