Four Seasons Hotel receives Five Diamond award

Thomas Gurtner
In just its second year of operation, the Four Seasons Hotel in Westlake Village has received the American Automobile Association Five Diamond Award.

The 270-room hotel in Westlake Village becomes the only AAA Five Diamond-rated hotel in the Conejo Valley.

To determine the Five Diamond accommodations, AAA hospitality experts inspect more than 32,000 hotels each year. Every hotel is rated by 75 different benchmarks, while the staff is evaluated by 228 individual standards.

Less than 1 percent of the inspected hotels achieve the AAA Five Diamond designation. "We are thrilled and honored to have achieved this designation," said Thomas Gurtner, Four Seasons regional vice president and general manager. "We feel that the key to providing this level of exceptional service is through the highly selective recruitment process and implementation of Four Seasons service and training standards."

The award was announced at a Nov. 12 reception at the hotel's Hampton's Restaurant, attended by hotel clients and members of the media.

Four Seasons opened in November 2006 offering a 40,000-square-foot spa and well-being programs at California Health & Longevity Institute in addition to extensive function space and diverse dining options.
