Rancho Las Virgenes Composting Facility, operated by Las Virgenes Municipal Water District and Triunfo Sanitation District, announces its holiday schedule.

The program will be closed Sat., Nov. 29, Dec. 27 and Jan. 3. The facility will be open all other Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The facility is at 3700 Las Virgenes Road, Calabasas.

Residents picking up compost should bring containers with a cover or strong plastic bags with ties. Pickup trucks must bring a plastic cover for the bed. Shovels are provided.

For a limited time, free compost for bulk loading will be available by appointment on weekdays.
