Fundraiser for care facility

A fundraiser to create a residential care home will be held at 7 p.m. Fri., Nov. 14 at North Ranch Center, 1400 N. Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village.

"Out Community House of Hope" will be a residential care home for terminally ill patients in the last three months of life.

According to project head Theresa Wolf, there are no affordable end-of-life care homes in the area. The projected eightbed house will provide care to patients and families in the Conejo and Simi valleys, Moorpark, Camarillo, Calabasas and Malibu.

The short-term goal of OCHH is to raise $250,000 by mid-2009 to secure staff and operate a rental home. The project's longterm goal is to purchase a permanent home.
