Volleyball league holds tryouts

The Spectrum Volleyball Club is hosting tryouts for aspiring girl volleyball players. Tryouts and practices will be held at Thousand Oaks Spectrum Health Club, 2400 Willow Lane, Thousand Oaks.

Tryouts for players ages 15 and 16 (birthdates between Sept. 1, 1990-91) will be 7:30 to 9 p.m. today, Nov. 12.

Tryouts for players ages 17 and 18 (birthdates between Sept. 1, 1992-93) will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sun., Nov. 16. Makeup tryouts will be 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wed., Nov. 19.

Players who cannot make these times may call to set up an individual tryout.

The tryout fee is $10.

In six years of operation, the club has grown into an established and well respected club in the community and Southern California Volleyball Association.

The club goal is to build a strong foundation in the players by teaching the proper fundamentals of the game, and placing them in a consistent competitive environment.

In addition to volleyball practices, players will receive a gym membership to the Spectrum Health Club Thousand Oaks for the length of the 2009 season, and access to the Spectrum Clubs plyometric jump training class.
