Thousand Oaks High hosts college workshop

The Thousand Oaks High School counseling staff and PTSA will host "Mapping your way to a four-year college" from 7 to 9 p.m. Wed., Nov. 19 at the school's Performing Arts Center, 2323 Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

The free workshop is for freshman and sophomore parents and students.

The seminar will have representatives from UCLA, the CSU system, Moorpark College and independent colleges and universities.

Topics of discussion will include high school course selection, college entry requirements, admission tests and test prep opportunities, and community college transfer options.

A questionandanswer session will follow the presentations.

The event is different from the college information night, which hosts representatives from colleges around the country.
