Newspaper deliverywoman stops to help motorists, but they steal her car
      A 37-year-old newspaper deliverywoman was robbed at knifepoint after she stopped to help what appeared to be a stranded motorist at 5:15 a.m. Monday. The Thousand Oaks resident saw a Toyota Camry stopped in one of the traffic lanes on Moorpark Road near Rolling Oaks Drive.

Change in police oversight to affect Lake Sherwood and unincorporated areas
      A new police captain has been assigned to oversee patrol services in Ventura County's unincorporated areas, including Oak Park, Lake Sherwood, Hidden Valley, Lynn Ranch, Bell Canyon and parts of Newbury Park. Capt. Bill Flannigan and Capt. Brent Kerr of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department are switching jobs.

Alleged stalker arrested after traveling here from Michigan
      A Michigan man suspected of stalking found the Thousand Oaks Police Department standing between him and a female resident he allegedly drove across country to see. George Costales, 39, was arrested the evening of Nov. 5 when he allegedly showed up at the victim's door.
