What's a movie without popcorn?
     WENDY PIERRO/Acorn Newspapers CRAFTS, SNACKS AND A MOVIE—Thousand Oaks resident and Girl Scout Danielle Tatro, 10, refills bags of popcorn during a break from watching the movie "Enchanted." On last Saturday evening, the Girl Scouts hosted an Enchanted Evening as a recruiting event for girls ages 5 to 11. They had fun and learned about Scouting at Ascension Lutheran Church and School in Thousand Oaks. The next recruiting event is planned for 2 to 4 p.m. Sat., Dec. 6 at the Grant Brimhall/Thousand Oaks Library.

      KO Studio Westlake is offering a free hands-on workshop for women in the community from 9 to 10 a.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. Tues., Dec. 9 or Thurs., Dec. 18. Women can learn how to have a lifestyle that is healthy and satisfying.

Brownie troop helps animal shelter
     LOVE ALL PETS—Brownie Troop No. 113 from Madrona Elementary School in Thousand Oaks donated supplies and money to Malibu Pet Companions, a volunteer group that supports the Agoura Hills Animal Shelter. While touring the shelter, the girls met the animals available for adoption and learned about pet overpopulation.
