Wellness Community to host reconstructive surgery seminar As part of the ongoing Breast Cancer Connection series, The Wellness Community Valley/ Ventura presents "Breast Reconstruction: Understanding your Options" from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Mon., Nov. 17 at 530 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village. The speakers will be Gil Kryger, M.D., and Zol Kryger, M.D. This workshop will cover the various reconstructive options in simple terms, explaining the differences as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each approach. Discussion will include what option is best suited for each type of patient and important considerations for friends and family members of a woman undergoing reconstruction. Gil Kryger graduated from UC San Francisco School of Medicine, followed by a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Stanford University and fellowships in hand surgery at Southern California Orthopedic Institute and microsurgery at USC. Zol Kryger graduated from Stanford Medical School, followed by a seven-year residency at Northwestern University in Chicago and research fellowships at Buncke Clinic for Microsurgery and the Wound Healing Laboratory at Northwestern University. Gil and Zol Kryger founded the Kryger Institute of Plastic Surgery with offices in West Hills and Thousand Oaks. This event is free for breast cancer survivors and their loved ones.
