Ribbon to be cut at Pierce Bros. on Monday

Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks Memorial Park will host a dedication and ribbon-cutting for the Garden of Reflections cremation garden at 4 p.m. Mon., Nov. 17 at 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village. Light refreshments will be served.

Officials from Westlake Village, Calabasas, Oak Park and Thousand Oaks, L.A. and Ventura County, clergy and community leaders have been invited.

Garden of Reflections is the first cremation garden in the area.

The garden is a 4,500square-foot natural environment that is said to resemble the peaceful feeling of walking in an English tea garden.

Faux boulders, niches, columbaria, pedestals, monoliths and family estates provide capacity for 1,038 interments.
